Another question: Following up on what you said about Jean Grey staying dead (or should have been), do you think her return resulted in Rachel Grey always being overshadowed by her mother?
Yes, sure. Though, to be fair, I’ve never much been a fan of that character (outside of her original DoFP appearance) and from what I can tell, apart from Chris Claremont, few writers have been as well. That has less to do with Jean’s return over Se than it does with the fact that Rachel has a convoluted backstory and is overpowered in such a way that typically makes other characters unnecessary.
